Emily Garrity, President of Storage Consultants, Inc (SCI) has more than eight years experience in the Self-Storage and Records & Information Management (RIM) industries as an owner/operator of both a self-storage facility and standalone commercial records center (CRC).
Beginning with the purchase of a self-storage property in 2000, she quickly increased occupancy rates and square footage ROI by adding ancillary services that would increase the commercial customer base for more stable and longer unit rentals and to also increase retail foot traffic for visibility and daily sales.
A centralized retail center was established that sold boxes, moving supplies, rental insurance for units, U-Haul trucks and was also an Authorized FedEx and UPS Ship Center.
Records Storage and Management services were added in 2002 and fully launched in 2003 as a separate entity within the self-storage facility where it grew rapidly necessitating a larger separate facility two years later and the two businesses were split and managed separately.
